Hobo Hot Springs
Saratoga is best known for its hot springs. Native Americans used the springs for their healing properties and the region was considered "neutral" territory. Springs exist along the Platte, with the early ones being known on the eastside of the River, where the Hot Springs Resort now is. The hot springs at the Hobo Pools were original discovered after flooding in 1917.
In the 1930s, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) worked on improving the Hobo Pools. They added wooden railing and stonework around the springs.
Over the years, various bath houses have been added to the site, concrete has replaced the stone, and in the 1950s the Town of Saratoga constructed the Municipal Swimming Pool next to the Hobo Pools.
The Hobo Pools are open year-round and free to the public.
