Presbyterian Church

In 1882, Presbyterians built a church in nearby Rawlins which can lay claim to fame as being the oldest, still standing, church in Wyoming.

Through the early 1880s, citizens of Saratoga needed to travel to Rawlins for worship. This began to change as more pastors and reverends began commuting from Rawlins to Saratoga to offer Sunday services, preform wedding, and offer other sacraments. By 1888, citizens of Saratoga were petitioning the Episcopal Bishop of their own church, and St Barnabas' Episcopal Church was built on Main and 1st Streets.

A couple years later, in 1900, the Presbyterian Church in Saratoga was built on Bridge and 3rd Streets (where you are standing). These were some of the first buildings build on the west side of the Platte.
